My Heaven- Rabindra Nath Tagore

About The Poet-

  

Rabindra Nath Tagore was born on May 6, 1861, in Calcutta.

He was one of the distinguished novelists and poets. His father's name was Devendra Nath Tagore. He was educated mostly at home. He wrote both in English and Bengali. His famous poetic works are 'The Gitanjali', 'The Grander', 'Lovers Gift', etc.

रवीन्द्र नाथ टैगोर का जन्म 6 मई, 1861 को कलकत्ता में हुआ था। वे प्रतिष्ठित

उपन्यासकारों और कवियों में से एक थे। उनके पिता का नाम देवेंद्र नाथ टैगोर था। वह ज्यादातर घर पर ही शिक्षित हुए।  उन्होंने अंग्रेजी और बंगाली दोनों में लिखा। उनकी प्रसिद्ध काव्य कृतियाँ 'द गीतांजलि', 'द ग्रैंडर', 'लवर्स गिफ्ट' आदि हैं।

About The Lesson-

The poem 'My Heaven' draws the picture of an Ideal country where people are literal and enjoy all types of freedom they are liberal and broad-minded. 

कविता 'मेरा स्वर्ग' एक आदर्श देश की तस्वीर खींचता है जहाँ लोग शाब्दिक हैं और सभी प्रकार की स्वतंत्रता का आनंद लेते हैं वे उदार और व्यापक हैं।

Para- 1:

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high:

Where knowledge is free: 

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments

by narrow domestic walls;

कवि कहता है-( हे ईश्वर ! मेरे सपनों का भारत इस प्रकार का हो। )

जहां लोग भय मुक्त हो और सिर ऊंचा रहे अर्थात लोग आत्म सम्मान तथा निर्भयता से रहें,

जहां ज्ञान और कोई प्रतिबंध ना हो अर्थात सभी लोग शिक्षित हो।:

जहां संसार जाति, धर्म तथा भाषा के कारण विभिन्न वर्गों में न बांटा हो;

Para- 2:

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way

into the dreary desert sand of head habit;

जहां शब्द सत्य की गहराई से निकलते हैं अर्थात लोग सत्य बोलते हो, 

जहां पर पूर्णता की प्राप्ति हेतु लगातार प्रयास किए जाते हैं,

जहां लोग तर्क की सुरक्षा धारा को छोड़कर पुरानी यादों के नीरस मरुस्थल की बालू में ना खो गए हो अर्थात वह लोग पुराने रीति रिवाज के आदि ना हो तथा तर्क के आधार पर नवीन विचारों की स्वीकार करने के इच्छुक हूं ;

Para- 3:

Where the Mind is led forward by Thee into ever-winding thought and action,

Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake.

जहां मस्तिष्क ईश्वर के वरदहस्त (प्रेरणा) से सदैव विकसित वीचार तथा कार्य की ओर अग्रसर होता है,

हे पिता (ईश्वर) मेरे देश को इस प्रकार का स्वतंत्रता  रूपी वरदान प्राप्त हो अर्थात मेरा देश इस प्रकार ही पूरी प्रगति करें।
